Costa Rica chosen as the best
tourist destination.
Apple Vacations Company gave the award to the country
The American company Apple Vacations awarded Costa Rica the title of best vacation destination in 2011. Apple Vacations has worked in the vacation planning market for over 42 years.
The award, called the “Crystal Apple Award for Best Destination 2011,” was announced during an Apple Vacations event – the 24th Annual Trade Show in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.
This is the first time Costa Rica has been awarded this recognition, which is based on the results of hundreds of surveys answered by Apple Vacations clients.
The surveys measured client satisfaction and the probability that they would recommend Costa Rica to family and friends.
Apple Vacations recognized Costa Rica’s potential as a destination that could become even more popular for travelers. The company offers travel packages to several regions of Costa Rica.
Likewise, this award recognizes Costa Rica’s reputation for sustainability, which seeks a balance between the environment and society. The country’s sustainable tourism helps distinguish it from other destinations.

Hi all.
Spirit Airlines www.spirit.com have great deals on flight specially for the Canadians from Montreal (Quebec) where you can take off from Plattsburgh (New York State), they have the best deals I have seen in 5 years travelling between Montreal and Costa Rica. you can find round trip for +/-$300 per person.
You will have to land in San Jose (Costa Rica) then drive to Tamarindo (Guanacaste- Costa Rica) .
Plattsburgh airport offer free and secure parking for travelers, it is perfect.

When the internet in down, we have no choice but taking it easy, taking a walk on Tamarindo or Langosta Beach or relaxing on a hammock around the pool with a good book and your favorite pet, but be careful you will catch the “Hammock disease” where the only cure is to keep coming to Costa Rica where the days are beautiful and sunny, where the ocean is warm, …
Here is an example:

Have great Evening Everyone !

For visitors and residents who love the sounds and sights of the ocean, the Pacific Coast is the place to be in Costa Rica. Tamarindo and Langosta are located in the province of Guanacaste and have the sunniest and driest climate of the Northern Pacific beaches. With the opening of a new airport in Liberia it has become easily accessible for Tamarindo and Langosta’s visitors. I return to this region every year. Next year, I’ll be cheating a bit… I’ll go twice.

Costa Rica’s cuisine is mostly savory – instead of piquant spices, Costa Rican cooks favor fresh herbs, onion, garlic, and other mild blends to season their dishes. In kitchens around the country, you’ll find homestyle comfort food that tastes delicious and fills you up – dishes like gallo pinto (rice and black beans), or sweet and creamy arroz con leche (rice pudding), served as a warm snack or special dessert.

From verdant rainforests to fiery volcanoes and balmy beaches to cool cloud forest, Costa Rica packs much of the world’s biodiversity into one small package. We’ve traveled all over and are often asked about our favorite places. Our answer is definitely TAMARINDO.
